  • {bought on release, perfect fill} This bottle opened at Ansonia, more leathery and reserved than any of the 3 prior bottles. Very Beaune, leather and red cherries. Structure seems sound, opened after an hour, ripe cherry fruits underlie everything ... this bottle may have closed down, despite last 3 being more open. Not flawed, but also not rated.

  • {Bought on release, perfect fill, forced, yes forced, by spouse to open this bottle though had intended another year at a minimum}Deep color for red Burgundy, yet still translucent. Initial forepalate reticent, initial impression is that this wine is mostly end-palate; with air the forepalate catches up with red cherries, balanced by superb "bing" in end palate. Classic Beaune with both fresh and dried red fruit elements. Balance is quite good and can see this wine drinking well several decades from now.

Spouse: "Serious wine. My Sweet Spot."

  • {one of 6 purchased on release, no ullage, pop pour} Really excellent, has turned the corner into Ready to Drink territory. Supple, delicious Chassagne fruit, lithe, no unresolved fruit. Way more approachable than last time tried. Wish I had bought 12, not 6, or some mags. Recommend future buyers give the wine 7 years. Big improvement in terms of immediate drinkability. This is iconic Chassagne rouge. Great showing. Cranberry, acidic notes have resolved, really this is delicious. (Am going to ask my retailer about mags of current vintages now). With another couple years may be a 92 pointer.

  • {Third or fourth bottle of a case, perfect fill, PoPNPour over 4 hours} Opening nose was way off in sagebrush territory; stones, sour cherries (not griotte), yet with a laser-like center of pinote fruit on the palate; over several hours the aromatics came to match the core center. Fascinating. Will decant the next bottle, I don't think this wine will have any problems making it to the 15 year mark and may be shut down.

Went well with baked fish with tomatoes and black olives, which is an hard match and may tell you something about the flavor set...

  • Nose of red fruits, some oak, primary. Elegant, good fruit but the palate is diluted. Really a harmless wine.
