Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 91 points

  • Rainer Wess Zoom tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of citrus lemon, rambutan, nectarine, ripe peach, dusty Loess minerality. Developed.
On the palate, dry, soft medium+ acidty sensation, medium alcohol (13%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of soft cream ripe peach/nectarine, rambutan, honey melon, candied caramel and pineapple. Long sweetish finish.
Complex though seems ponderous and not for ageing. Not my preferred style of Riesling.

  • Limey aromas. Lots of pithiness. Some fat to the palate again. Lots of mineral riding out the finish too.
Day3. Fattens out with some air. Not too dry.

  • Tasted after the very well made, but slightly tame Grüner Veltliner Loibenberg, the Riesling is cooler, more mineral and more vibrant. Very fresh and bright, generous fruit, persistent and lively. 92-93+
