Concentrated fruit that screams, I am from Gevrey. Combine this with a salinity that smells and tastes like low tide at the ocean. Oyster shell minerality. Dark brooding Burgundy. Rugged tannin on the finish gives this a slightly hot finish. I will hold my other bottles for a few more years.

One of the most consistent village Gevrey Chambertin out there today. Decanted for 1 hour and it opened up beautifully. Sylvie VV displays itself consistently with brooding fruit concentration with a saline, oyster shell type of character. It is an animalistic and sexy Burgundy. If you like your Burgundy to punch you in the face and have you coming back wanting more, this is for you. This is not the most balanced wine, nor does it have much finesse. Nevertheless, it is how I like my red Burgundy. Paired perfectly with seared duck breast. Already drinking great now.

Darker in color and flavor. Solid-body with sour cherry, plum, and herbal tea. Tannin is fine but quite obvious. This is quite Gevrey in style but still needs at least 3-5 years of cellaring.

I concur that this is very dark and unctuous, but I will also say that this is delicious and very soooo Gevrey. This is everything that you would expect from a vv from the 15 vintage (as described). This is very drinkable now (with aeration), and I'm sure it will only get smoother and more harmonious in time. But why wait. This is a smack in your palate sauvage Gevrey. I wouldn't even bother pairing with food. This is the meal.
