Big Cabernet Sauvignon that improved on the second day opening. Very hot (alcohol) PnP that blew off on second day. This is a bold Cab with good dark fruits, some minerality, and good acidity. The bottle description really hit it. Tannins are rounded. Lots of time left but no reason to wait. Give it a decant or let it open for a day.

'14 Napa Cab Friday Night Coravin Tasting: Distinct aromas set this apart from the other Cabs in the tasting. Strong saline and pollen with some barnyard funk developing over time. Easily identifiable from the other Cabs just by its aroma. The taste was much different from the nose with a good mix of grainy tannins, minerality and a medium long acidic finish. My number two, Christine's number three, she preferred the more round and fruity Myriad Dr Crane. Both picked the Anderson's CVV Reserve in the number one spot.

Notes of red, blue, and black fruit, dark spice (clove, anise), and some minerality all worked in good harmony. This wine had some nice depth and an equally nice degree of lift, creating an experience of freshness and verve that keep it moving energy-wise across the palate. Still, this is a more medium-bodied style, and falls behind the Beckstoffer offerings on a number of fronts.
Drink now and over the next few years. 92 points max.

Whirlwind Winter Tasting in the Valley; 2/7/2018-2/10/2018 (Napa Valley, CA): This wine was a nice surprise. Apparently this is fruit from Lewelling. A beautiful perfumed nose of crushed flowers, creme de cassis and a little spice box. Really vibrant fruit on the pallet, medium to full bodied with a great flavor profile. The energy and freshness of this wine is notable. Beautiful 30 sec finish. Not on the level of some of the higher end offerings, but hard to go wrong here. This is super tasty.

Can't go wrong with this cab. Perfect blend of tannins, fruit and oak. Great color, nose, pallet and finish. Paired with a marinated filet. A great jam

3-Day Napa Cab Taste-Off: Vice Versa, B Cellars, Memento Mori, Alpha Omega, Purlieu, Janzen, Realm, Myriad, MACDONALD, Maybach, and more...; 2/7/2018-2/9/2018 (Napa): "Actually quite good," was the first entry into my notes on this wine. As Cristal2000 mentioned, this was a nice surprise. As soon as our host mentioned it was Lewelling Vineyard, I instantly became a little skeptical, as I haven't been as impressed as others here on CT with that site and what has come from it (...easy people...no rocks and bottles...it just hasn't been my thing)...
