It took a while to open up, but air brought out a lovely fresh bruised okra stem aroma and a hint of mint add a savory touch to the slightly liqueury raspberry and cranberry fruit and tart acidity and tannin further keep it in check. As the night wore on, the fruit seemed more bruised than truly fresh and it became more muddled. For an hour or two, it was a terrific wine, bracketed by disappointment. I'd advise tracking it closely once opened, then pounding it once it starts to show well.

Latricières-Chambertin Dinner (Paris Club - Chicago IL): Tasted single blind in Latricieres 1978-993 flight. Large scaled black fruit, fresh and lively but slightly one-dimensional. Good balance.
