  • Cork came out in a million pieces even with an Ah so. But the wine had NOT soaked 100% through the cork. The wine took at least an hour to find its footing. As I was leaving, the wine was showing plums and dates and meaty notes. Hour after I left there were supposedly lots of woodsy and cola starting to show up. Cellared in only two spots since purchased directly from the chateau, provenance is just about perfect. Finished long and deep. Really great structure here although I think the best years of this wine have already passed but there is still quite a lot here. Really impressed by this wine though. Showed a lot better than I thought it would.

  • Still massive potential, little closed though open 30 minutes prior (not decanted).
15+ years in front of it.

  • I believe this wine has certainly seen better days. This is an NR rating for sure. Enjoyed at the Gilbear 2013 Graduation party with special guests from Bulgaria. Cork withdrawn intact but wow there was a lot of bleed on this one. Cork was saturated, but seal on bottle was good and intact. Wine was a little subtle out of the bottle. Poured a ruby red with some slight brown tint. Wine was delicate black cherry and some blackberry. Palate is some muted fruit, raspberry and black cherry and lots of age. Smooth on the entry. Definitely zero spice, zero heat, very soft. Wine integrated into a nice delicate middle with some earth peeking in. Almost kind of reminded me of graham cracker dust for a split second. Nice finish, good wine. I'm glad I still have another, but the other one will definitely be consumed soon.

  • Cork crumbling but wine still fine. Burnt dark orange color. On open, bright nose with orange reminds me of certain aged Pinots by Leroy. Plenty of fruit left, tinge of tangerine on the palate with pomegranate. Mellowed out with air into a fine wine. Nice.
