Very dark inky color. Bold. I put it through 2 full vSpins to get the fruits to open up and the alcohol to settle down. After that a nice wine and an opportunity to drink a Petit Verdot wine. Not sweet but I thought of chocolate covered cherries when I drank this.

We let this breathe all afternoon (4+hours) so take that into account. This was an excellent wine, think the breathing took some of the sharp edges and alcohol nature of Lodi wines off the table, a good thing. It tasted to me like an excellent muscular Pomerol or St Emilion (Merlot and Cab Franc), but while mouth-filling with tastes of red maraschino cherry and oak, it was quite elegant and had a long finish. Had it with steamed lobster and king crab legs with ghee (clarified butter). Wow, wow.

Lost my notes, so I’m now writing them again a week later. This has all the good qualities of Petit Verdot, but it’s too extracted for my taste.
