This was the first of our 3 appetizers with three wines for our Virtual Wine tasting and so I was focusing on the pairing mostly. It is a bright, pale, straw color with no rim variation. The subtle aroma is refreshingly citrus and apple. The first taste was dry, crisp & medium bodied all nicely balanced. The second sip I noticed the fresh citrus and kiwi flavors and a medium finish. Overall a very good wine. We drank it chilled and it went down so easy it never got a chance to lose the chill. And on to food pairings. Here is what I thought about the food pairing by using the sip – taste – sip method. FOOD: celery stuffed w/ goat cheese &walnuts MATCH: perfect FOOD: chicken, mushroom & cheese canapés MATCH: good FOOD: bacon wrapped steak MATCH: neutral FOOD: brownies MATCH: neutral According to my research in selecting these appetizers, goat cheese is supposed to be a perfect match with Sauvignon Blanc. I had to agree. The acidity in wine balances and smoothes the goat cheese which in turn complements the Sauvignon Blanc. The chicken appetizer was good with the Sauvignon Blanc but not perfect as the mushrooms added a bit of savory flavor that while delicious on its own was good but not great with the wine. The bacon wrapped steak and the brownies, again both delicious, were neutral with the wine. My husband who is not a wine drinker noted that diet orange flavored soda paired well with the steak. Of course he would think sour milk or flat ginger ale would pair well with steak. You get the idea as long as there is steak, he will be happy. This was fun and I can’t wait to do the next one, a Rose.

This wine is a sliver gold color. Nice scents of lemon and a touch of guava, a nice refreshing aroma. It has a nice crisp lemon flavor to it.
This is a nice refreshing wine, really enjoyed it. Would be nice on a summer day.
