  • Riktigt bra just nu, känns som det är topp form på G just nu.

  • Lovely fully developed Brunello from a warm year, ready to drink now.

The warmth of the year can be seen from the color: beautiful ruby color with garnet reflexes, medium intensity with a darker core. Gorgeous.

In the nose, the wine reveals a fully developed intense (medium+) nose. The fruit is on the darker side (black cherry, maybe some blackberry, some greener herbs in terms of tomato leaves), and the wine explodes in the secondary and especially tertiary components. On the secondary notes we can find tobacco, some dark chocolate, roasted coffee. Dried herbs (marjoram, thyme, rosemary), tobacco, classic "meatiness" (marker for aged Sangiovese), earth. A complex nose revealing the age of the wine without ever looking tired.

In the mouth, the wine is round, smooth, and potent. The acidity (high) is dominant in the entrance, paired with a good body (medium) and alcol (medium+) the mid-palate reveals powerful and rounded tannins (high). The wine never loses focus or concentration, it keeps delivering until the end. The aftertaste is curiously shorter than expected (medium) - this is where the wine loses most of its points. In the aftertaste, notes of tobacco and licorice.

This is a great wine, a classic cru from brunello on a wonderful year. Brunello is one of those varieties that really shine with 10 years of ageing, and this wine is a clear example. Outstanding wine, not suitable for further ageing. Drink it now!

  • Thought this was much better on night 1 than on night 2. Weighty, darker fruit profile, some roasted tomato in there too. Night two turned noticeably more pruny. I was not enjoying my last sips.

  • Decanted for 3 hours. Mushrooms, tobacco, leather autumn to start with then moving into dark fruits, red cherries, vanilla, acidic smooth tannins. Beautiful characteristic wine in it's maturing phase.
