  • Great cabernet from Greece! Really liked it.

  • My family and I tasted this wine at an Oxy day celebration. I knew nothing of Greek wine and made my purchase solely based on the label. My decision was a good one because the wine exceeded everybody's expectation's. We dined on Spanokopita, Mousaka, and grilled Lamb. Ktima went perfectly with everything. I have purchased several more bottles, and plan to drink them at our next Greek celebration.

  • This one is from Greece made from the Tsapournakos grape which is related to Cab Franc. Thought this was appropriate since we just returned from the Loire valley where Cab Franc is king.

Dark and inky this has aromas of black fruit and some old world earthiness. This is fairly dry in the mouth with moderate tannins, a bit light on the acid, fairly tightly wound, earthy with some hints of black and blue fruits. Probably could use a few more years on its side.

  • Iterating between classical Bordeaux notes and floral, fruity aromas this wine is difficult to grasp. Overall solid structure, built on red fruit, ink, licorice, some tobacco, but constantly flirting with a second layer of exotic spices and floral tones. Relying on solid tannins this wine will have time to sort this dichotomy, though without guarantee of success.

  • Now this is quite something. Bought it because I liked the frog on the label and because it’s Greek. This tsapournakos grape they say is a variant of Cabernet franc... I never tasted anything so akin to green sweet apples, rather the haribo ones than the real ones... at a modest 13.5% this is truly not bad, but so unlike anything else you qualify as red wine.
