Pale translucent ruby robe, so translucent as to make it impossible to say where the meniscus begins. Attractive, albeit slightly reticent, aromas of forest floor, cherries, and a hint of licorice and white pepper but no green meanies. The palates tannin and acids, although still present, are well on their way to being resolved but are sufficient to give plenty of backbone to this wine. Although not exciting or complex this provides for pleasurable drinking. Should have a few more years in it and wouldn't surprise me if it improves after another 5-10yrs. Wish I'd bought a couple more so I could find out.

Light garnet colour, orange on the rim. Intense nose with layers of green olives, perfume. Aromatic. Medium-bodied, stylish on the palate, elegant fruitiness and long finish. Very good for the vintage and enjoyable right now.

Brief note: More perfumed, with redder fruit than the 2004 Girardin Santenay 1er Cru Graviere that preceded it in the lineup. Somewhat superripe fruit and a bit raisiny.
