Retail $90(?). Dark, even really dark in the glass, particularly for a Burgundy. I am going with the theory that this is a sign of the times: even Burgundy is warming to the point that ripeness is no longer(?) an issue. "Normally" in a red Burgundy, one would expect a host of fresh and dried cherry notes, but not here. Blackberry, plum, even anise are present here along with, sure, black cherry, but this is not your dad's Red Burgundy. The palate follows along with that theme: dark, gloomy, brooding. Yeah, this is a different direction for the region and while it works for me, what does the future hold?
