Had this with Thai stewed pork noodles. Not an obvious pairing, but I think it worked well with the anise and cinnamon flavors from the dish. The wine needed about an hour to open up.

Three hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Blackberry syrup, graham cracker, mint and subtle mocha powder on the nose. Smooth, chalky, tongue drying palate, with good acidity. Full, round tannins on the medium finish. Solid CS for this price point.

Medium to full bodied and dominated by leathery red fruit, cassis, and tobacco. Better on night 1 than night 2. Made for drinking in the next couple years.

A large amount petite sirah in it 22%. And it kinda smells like it. Black dark fruit. Sweet black spicy fruit. This is made by the assistant from Heidi Barrett. Lots of grin and dark black fruit. Stacked and backed as the saying goes.
