  • This was a truly remarkable wine. Extremely well made, AND in an extremely unfashionable style: Big, fat, rich, HEAVILY oaked Chardonnay. If that's your jam then do what you can to get some of this but be sure to pair it right. Chicken a la King? Veal parmigiana? Dunno but it went pretty badly with raw oysters. : )

  • First time for me to try this Rulo Chardonnay. The fact that the grapes are from the Rocks got my attention. This is a rich style of Chardonnay with some nice oak. I liked that the oak and fermentation weren't overdone. This is a great addition to the Rulo line up.

  • All estate fruit from the Rocks. 100% hand picked chardonnay, barrel
fermented, 100% Malo lactic fermentation and aged in 100% French oak

Aromatics showcase this muscular Chardonnay. Rich, creamy notes lead the charge; French oak, butter, creme brûlée, lemon curd, white fig, apple butter and vanilla are met with scents of baking spice and pear with light hints of stone fruit and flowers.
Rich and creamy on the palate. This full bodied Chardonnay is big and voluptuous with flavors translating from the nose showing apple sauce, d'anjou pear, butter, lemon curd, creme brûlée, baking spice, flowers and vanilla. The finish lingers reinforcing the oak and pear/apple component.

Overall, the biggest of the Rulo Chardonnay line-up. A style that is very Californian, without the price tag that generally comes associated with those wines.
