Deep purple, aromas low intensity dark fruit, some smoke, typical cab sav bell pepper. Low body. Balanced. Mild tannins. Acceptable for the $16 price point. Do not save - drink now.

P: Med, poss MF, body; Rndish entry with almost swtsh frt very, VERY nicely off-set by a bit of astringency which ultimately morphs into a LONG, ALMOST swtish finish. EXCEPTIONALLY well made for now & into, if not through, '19, though an additional 3, poss 6, months of cellaring MIGHT improve it. 91 pts Suckling, 88 pts WS [As is often the case, this vendor's $11.95 leads the pack!]

N: Fragrant, a bit hard to parse: Berries init, certainly some toast, with earthiness (& a touch of pyrazines?) emerging over time
P: Med, poss MF, body; Almost swtish frt balanced by acidity; The finish is LONG with some astringency & a NOT unpleasant bitterness. // Day 2: N ≈ Day 1, & with the same progression; On the P the astringency & bitterness have fallen waaaaaaay off, the frt only slightly. // Day 3 (sans the Private Preserve of Day 1): The intensity of the aromas is down, & I'm noting SOME oxygenation; P's rndish entry is fairly quickly off-set by a bit of astringency (a result of oxygenation?), though NOT a particular issue with food. [As of late Dec '19, wine-searcher still shows 1 source @ $14.99].

Initially I really liked this, but it quickly developed that bell pepper taste that I find off putting in Chilean wines.
