This is lovely, for what it is. Quite pale. Succulent fruits, some fine tannins still, but seriously more-ish. Surprisingly long. And (per the label at least), only 12.5% abv. From the vineyards in Flagey across the road from Clos de Vougeot. Augurs well for my village wines of the same vintage from this grower, who was new to me in 2017.

So good it only needs 3 letters as a short cut.... perhaps not quite yet. But, make no mistake, this is a domaine to get to know. After a fantastic showing of the 2012 vosne 1er (notes to follow soon), it was great to get into this entry level from 2015. Very pretty and elegant on the nose. Juicy, but balanced. Lots of raspberry and raspberry leaf on the palate. A touch of cranberry. Some good minerality. A cooling element also on the palate. There is plenty of complexity here to get you interested in pausing to think about this wine.
I really enjoyed this. Very approachable and so easy to drink.

Small tasting glass @ VINEUM during service, so a brief note. This remains a delicious example of easy-drinking red Burgundy from the very good 2015 vintage!
