  • And 9 months later, finally my last of 52 bottles. Still going down really nicely. This is definitely an everyday value wine that I will look out for in future.

  • Two years on from my last note, I cleared my supplier out of these at ~US$8.50!

Splash decanted from cellar temperature and drank immediately with cheese dosas ( :-) ).

Very dark red fruits and minerality on the nose. Which continue to the palate where the dark fruits are lucious but not sweet, and tannins arrive to give a rather dry finish. For me this needs food, although the missus likes it on its own.

This continues to be one of the best value wines we have ever bought. Sadly only 5 bottles remain (this is the 47th drunk).

  • My thoughts on this pretty much match Eboracum's, but two years later (and having decanted an hour before drinking) I'm not finding the vanilla notes, so I guess that prediction was correct.

Dark fruit & herbs, moderate- acidity, nice light tannins and garrigue on the finish. It's not the most complex of wines, but it's going down very smoothly.

And at less than US$9 the QPR is very hard to beat!

  • The body builder bottle and the over-hyped and rather poor taste English language rendering of a quite sober French text on the back label do not inspire confidence. However, the wine itself is almost what I want from a low/mid-priced S.Rhône. Medium/full bodied with quite lush but not cloying bramble tinged fruit, velvety texture, Mediterranean herbs, fair acidity with some firmness on the finish. The only drawback restraining me from "I like" is an excessively marked vanilla note, veering to cloves, infusing the fruit and no doubt coming from oak ageing. This may attenuate with more time. Nearly good right now.
