  • PnP and let for five minutes or so.
Color is reddish purple fading to a noticeable orange at the edge.
Primary aroma of cherry and black cherry.
Secondary aromas of savory dried herbs and clay.
On the palate this has sour cherry, a bit of a thin mid-palate and a light, mouthwatering finish.
A bit of funk creeping in after another 5-10 minutes…
Drinking with dinner of salmon with maple-mustard glaze, new potatoes with a red pepper sauce and a tossed salad.
This did not fill in at all during dinner and aromas and flavors of vanilla and wood crept in.
    Ok, thin and acidic…

  • Drinking quite nicely. Doesn't feel past its prime (yet), although I don't have a ton of NSG experience. Nice cherry notes, but also a cured meat tertiary flavor that went really well with venison burgers. Fruit is not tart in the least, but not sweet either. Firmly old world but the long finish and flavors combined positively for me. One more bottle in the cellar left.

  • Drinking very nicely right now though with time I believe it will develop beyond the (beautiful) primary black-cherry notes that dominate at the moment. Balanced acidity, long finish and classic NSG iron-ore notes. Very enjoyable if not terribly complex.
