Very Good. Dark purple in color with a variety of legs (some quick; some slow moving). Tobacco on the nose. Slightly Smokey flavor with cherry. Decent for the price.

Nose: Ripe, bright, red fruit (smells good, very fruity). A scent of almost tart-candy (pretty nice), the slightest of funk mixed with a very subtle spice. There's either.. a mineral or soil from a thick forest floor, or a mix of both.
Palate: The minerality is more prevalent with some oak flavors. The fruit has gone into the background.
Dark, translucent ruby. Medium-light bodied. Dry with not a lot of tannins it seems. Decent finish of about 3-5 seconds but it seems that it's mostly the oak taste that lingers (not for me). Approachable and easy to drink, a simple wine but not necessarily in a bad way. It tastes like it's missing something but I can't tell what.. I wanna say more body and tannins but I'm not sure, could be just me. This Malbec from this producer was recommended from a friend for me to try in place of a Cabernet Sauvignon.. it's okay but I'd still rather stick to the Cabernet Sauvignons. Again, not bad but just not my preference.

I am usually a big fan of Argentine Malbecs. The blurb at my wine shop said something like "James Suckling 92", so I took the bait and bought at $18. This was really disappointing. The wine had an overwhelming bitterness, which is a huge defect in my opinion. The bitterness overshadowed any positive feature that this wine might have had. The Maipe Malbec Reserve from '09 and '12 at $13, and the "regular" Alamos Malbec from various years for $8- $12 have been far better.

The taste was mineral and not very good tasting. I don’t think had gone bad but it was just not good
