Deep ruby. Not a very pronounced nose of raspberry, smoke, and a bit of herbal/foresty notes. On the palate, mouth coating, with low fine tannin and medium acid ripe berries and herbs, a bit earthy. The finish is a lightly green, berried finish with a bit of pronounced alcohol at the end. A modern, early developing, fruit-forward CdR that’s likely to please a crowd.

Day 1: Really nice for the price. Black pepper, raspberries, strawberries, underbrush and spices. Sweet fruits on the finish. Good complexity and medium plus finish. This is a really good wine for $7.97. Highly recommended.89 points Day 2: Nice rustic edge emerging on this. Baby CDP. Underbrush, ripe raspberries, pepper and stone. Even better on day 2 and a better bottle than the first one I purchased. 90 points Day 3: Nose is even more expressive with violets, spices, underbrush and mint. The palate is full of life and very flavorful. This is a really well made wine. I like this bottle better than the last which I gave 89 points. I see this wine possbily improving over time hence the 90+ final score. Recommend: Decant two or three hours on day one or enjoy like I did over the course of a few days or cellar for 1 to 3 years.

Day 1: Pop and pour. Dark color. Perfumed wine with red currants, spices, floral notes and candied fruits. A bit sweet and minor heat. For $8 this is a well made wine with some aging potential. Will revisit this one over the course or four days. 87 points Day 2: In my short term history of doing day 3 wine reviews this one is the worst day 2 showing. Some spice, muted fruit and a lot of heat. Much better on the pop and pour. 81 points Day 4: Skipped day 3. Much better than day 2. More fruit, spices, chalk and violets. Nice perfume component to this wine. Really coming around. Had I gave up on this wine would have never recommended it. The evolution on day 4 is outstanding. Solid finish. For under $10 a real bargain. 89 points

63% grenache/37% syrah, according to the back label. Good color and intensity, with some saltiness in the taste and green tannins behind 14.5% alcohol in the finish. Nevertheless, there is plenty of fruit — evidence of the quality of the fine 2015 vintage. Needs to time to integrate. Well-made and fairly priced.

More modern american style of CdR i.e. heavily extracted (14.5% vol.) and a touch sweet. Had some characteristics of CdR, the garrigue/slightly bitter note on the nose/entry and slightly drying finish. Reasonable balance and a crowd pleaser if you're looking for a friendlier style of CdR. Decent quality.
