An additional year in the cellar has made such a difference. Rick, complex and well composed. Acidity is still there but not dominant dark berries, licorice and spices. If tannins would have been percent I could very well have mistaken it for a northern Rhône Syrah.

Fantastic Pinot! This is the third bottle I’ve had and this one is the best so far. Very flavorful immediately after opened and the mouthfeel was expressive and developed mor depth as it evolved over the next 90 minutes. If you have some of this at home, drink it now...it might have another 18 months before it starts to slowly fade.

As with my December 1, 2019 note on the 2016 vintage of this wine, I am thoroughly enjoying this Russian River Pinot. This vintage however is superior to the 2016 examples I no longer see in my primary wine store, as it has been usurped by this earlier vintage. This wine has a darker black cherry color, a more extracted and silky mouthfeel with a more present cola and cherry-strawberry flavor profile extant and lingering through the longer than expected finish. I hope it is available in other areas of the US for the $14.50 price point for which I am able to procure this politically and correctly made Pinot. I believe it is a standout for the price and I definitely will buy more.

Unmistakably PN on nose. Fruity. Strawberry and rubarb. Some spice and crushed basil. On palate more strawberry, cherry but once the rubarb walks in it kinda dominates. Has acid, kan keep. Probably benefit from a year or two more on its side. Hides the alcohol (14.5) very well.

For being a cooler climate wine it is rather warm fruit. A salty licorice and complex and rich flavor profile with some spice, dark berries and herbs.served slightly chilled and with time in glass it wer good both with food and as standalone.
