Taste is subjective and all, but I don’t know how anyone could enjoy this. There is heaps of Brett here, but I agree with other tasters that this also smells and tastes like a manure pile, way beyond your typical Brett, with a lingering note that can only be described as literally le merde, like this should be tested for ecoli. Drain pour.

NYC_Maenad's note is spot on; Medium weight; Some edge/spice; Benefited from a vigorous decant; Serve cellar temperature - becomes heavy/dull as it warms to room temperature

Bought this from Balanced Wine Selection's Shelter in Place sale. Like others, the nose heavily redolent of manure on opening. Jonathan is very brett sensitive and he swears that not all poop notes mean brett as far as he's concerned. In any case, he said this was manure, not brett. It stayed with the wine for some time and then faded a bit into the background. I thought it showed as I'd expect old school Beaujolais to show, what I've ordered by the carafe when I'm in a casual restaurant in the region - good dense slightly tart fruit, maybe a bit dirty, yeah, some mushroomy notes. The old vines came through in the depth of character, I thought. None of the grapey-ness that I sometimes dislike in young Gamay. Other than the manure notes fading to the background, I thought air did this bottle no favors, and we finished it up quickly.

The best thing I can say about this is that it was my last bottle. Dumped it.
