A fine natural, minimal intervention Chardonnay from the exalted Bass Phillip in Gippsland, Victoria.
The fruit is playful and bright. Lemon, lime. A dash of grapefruit. The oak, a quiet lick of creamy cashew and gently roasted nuts. There's some fine chalky minerals and white flowers. And a beautiful lime finish, gently encouraged on by the natural (slightly spritzy) acidity.
Brave winemaking. Understated class. Best natural wine I've tried. For that, it gets a Wozza 94.5/100 (4.1) from me.

Loved this, has a real presence, lovely texture and length. Not lean but is still elegant and deep, stone fruits and nice oak, drinks so well right now.

Not as generous as other years. Two hours plus decanting to soften acid

Golden straw, some oak and butter, but with good acidity and some citrus
