Cloudy ruby with no color degradation under the light. Toasted coconut dominates on the nose. Pleasantly sour raspberries dominate. An elegant lady that we caught in her last period of drinkability; it goes flat within 20 minutes of being opened, but is lovely before that.

Drunk at Troquet-Boston ($25, annual cellar-clearance). The prior review was evidently on a questionable bottle, as this one was far from done. Bright ruby with a deep opaque core, no noticeable browning and only a touch of bricking. Effusive nose of dark florals, rawhide and something akin to cumin. Required about 15 minutes in the decanter for the palate to come around. Fruit has receded only somewhat - plummy, a touch blueberry and still quite juicy - leaving prominent notes of leather, beef au jus, and a faint hint of oak spice. Tasty and proper.

Distinct pepper and chile aromas developed to unmistakable violet. Impressive residual acid and lactones. Not the slightest bit vinegary, although the fruit had receded. Drinking nicely, with a noticeably mature character. We disagree over whether this bottle was tainted.

Drank from magnum. Very green nose at first pour, this blows off after about 15 minutes in the glass, revealing quite a bit of dark fruit. Very bordeaux like fruit and herbs, finish a bit short. Definetly time to drink if you have them.

Past it's prime but very drinkable. Still had some depth.
