Popped and enjoyed over two hours with friends. This wine was splendid. Old vine concentration, polished tannin, chunky minerals, and clean fruits. This is a great cuvee and being made very well now.

Pommard vs Volnay remote split wine session. Drank from bottle after 2 hours of air. Drank in Grassl Cru. Tasted blind. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of reductive smokey burnt rubber, underlying mineral, meat, and red fruit. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), chewy medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red cherries, raspberries, strawberries, stony minerals, spice, smoked meat mixed with the reductive elements. Long finish. Good quality. I seem to be a frequent unfortunate victim of reduction for 2015 red burgs. The underlying material here is good though. New style of Pommard. Will improve with a few more years.

Pearl of Burgundy 2016 en Primeur tasting (Hong Kong): A discovery this producer (just like Clerget), looks like Cote de Beaune is waking up finally. A new style of Pommard, no more rustic stuff, polished tannins, blackberry, good finish. Very polished, excellent. V. good Good QPR.
