Been drinking Benovia Pinots since 2013 and this is their best effort (for us) to date. My notes of 2/20/18 apply today. For us the true measure of a great wine is when it tastes as good the second time as it did the first...and that's the case here. Elegant, slightly tart, muddled fruit and a bright essence that made this bottle special. And as before, just PnP using the Reidel New World Pinot glass. Still mystifies me as to Galloni's score (an 87!). Perhaps something magical transformed this in bottle over time.

Hmmm, normally I feel Antonio Galloni is pretty accurate in his reviews, but believe he was way off on this one (an 87 score). I'd say he got an off bottle, but he scored all five of the Benovia 2014 Pinots he tasted in the 80s (86-89). He is the expert, so it must just be me, right? Future CT scores will tell all, but I'm guessing low to mid 90s at least. What will the CTers say? This has bright red fruit and is uber-smooth. We don't normally consume a bottle in one night but this was too good to leave any. Tried it with one pass through the Vinturi but that was a non-starter. Best right out of the bottle in the Riedel Veritas New World Pinot glass. Still has years, but it is drinking so superbly today that, if I had more, I'd drink them sooner than later.

Very well balanced. Cranberry, dried cherry and a looong, slightly spicy (pepper) finish with mild tannin providing great structure. Fantastic!

Decanted for 45 minutes. Lighter than many California pinots with good red fruit and mild tannins. Very smooth. Drinking very well right now.
