  • This wine continues to surprise and impress me. Never opaque and big, yet it impresses for its depth and complexity. “Translucent ruby” best described the color. The wine in the glass draws the eye with a shimmering beauty. Bright cherry, anise, cinnamon smoke, and a bit of caramel come through on the nose. The palate is precise with every flavor shining through, but not in a competing or dominating way. Balance is the watchword for this wine, and frankly, that’s not a word that usually comes to mind with Brian’s wine (as much as I love ‘em). Much more depth and complexity than the Carg or Clos Pepe and the 2nd bottle finished in the evening. No sediment. 13.3% alc. With mustard crusted french pork roast and the Sheets and Smiley’s on the last weekend they live on Fallon. Recommended.

  • This is one of the first Loring wines I can recall opening that is not opaque at the core. In fact, the core is a translucent ruby; the light coming through is captivating. The nose is a very bright cherry with the spicy, woodiness of cinnamon followed by smoke, balsamic and teaberry. The palate tracks the nose with precision, but not with lock-step adherence. Everything is in place, but is not in anyway formulaic. The palate is expansive with the added flavors of Dr. Pepper and cola. Balanced, elegant and long-lived. A pleasure to drink. Nothing herbal as I detected 2 years ago. No sediment. . 13.3% alc. With broiled salmon under mustard. Recommended.

  • WOW! “Drink ‘em young” eh, Brian? No need to with juice this good. Don’t allow the blueberry color of the juice color your perception of the drink. Black cherry, Asian 5 spice (or is it just cloves?) and cranberry dominate the attack. Then something herbal - almost pine like - kicks in and then twists sideways to rosemary. The finish is smoking good. Despite a last glass showing tartrates, the wine finishes with a clean mouthfeel and little to no sediment. . 13.3% alc. With grilled tuna under romesco sauce. Recommended.

  • Clean with little to no sediment. Loads of black cherry, Asian 5 spice, smoke, olive and lavender. Didn’t take close notes, but wish I had. Really enjoyed this wine. 13.3% alc. With grilled tuna topped with olive tapenade. Recommended.

  • Twisted and poured. Notes of cherry everywhere. Very balanced and drinking beautifully. Not a huge Loring, but that is fine with me. Outstanding.
