with 20% Merlot and 3% Malbec. 20 months French oak. Medium nose shows blackberry, baking spice, cassis, mocha, espresso. Palate has more to say, nicely expressive layers of black fruits, coffee grounds, fresh earth, baking spice, sweet medium plus tannins and medium plus alcohol. Nice QPR and solid Napa profile.

Dark red/purple in glass. 14.2% abv, good legs in glass. Oak, anise, black fruit, forest floor: not a big nose. Nice acid that stays in the front of the mouth, followed by tannins. Definite resid sugar. Med style Cabernet but food friendly, esp with asian dishes. Will settle down with another 2-3 years in cellar, but stands proud now for what it is.

Had at Wildfire Chicago. Nice, hearty Napa Cab. Paired well with filet Mignon. Lost a little luster by the end of the meal, so enjoy in a timely way !
