  • Intense lime-green color. Ripe, open and very fruit-forward nose with aromas of sweet golden apples, some peach-driven stone fruits, a little bit of perfumed floral character and a sweet hint of zesty citrus fruits. The wine is ripe, moderately full-bodied and quite big on the palate with concentrated flavors of ripe citrus fruits, some beeswax tones, a little bit of peachy stone fruits, a hint of apple peel bitterness and a floral touch of apple blossom. The racy acidity lends wonderful sense of precision and freshness to the wine. The finish is ripe, concentrated and quite powerful with focused flavors of ripe red apples, some peachy yellow fruits, a little bit of stony minerality, a hint of lemon marmalade and a touch of beeswax.

A very big and concentrated Riesling that shows the characteristics of the hot 2015 vintage, but which also carries its big and weighty body with remarkable grace, thanks to its impressive acid structure and bright mineral core. A big powerhouse of a Riesling that feels a mere baby now at 1½ years of age - this definitely needs some further cellaring to make it lose its baby fat and to pick up some additional complexity. Recommended.
