-Bottle served at room temperature (68°) -Cork in excellent condition, wine bleed 1mm-2mm -Decanted for 3 hours -Color: Ruby-medium -Nose: Rhubarb up front with baking spice (allspice) after notes -Palate: Palate fairly consistent with nose rhubarb up front with pepper and baking spice on the back palate. Not much fruit. Low acidity/light mouth feel (for a Syrah) and a light, quick finish. -Food Pairing: Paired spare ribs. -Overall: Not offensive but not a lot of depth and dimension. Overall fairly bland. Did not seem like it was past its prime and for a 2013 it should still have plenty of life left but just not much there.
