A peachy yellow color with a pale orange hue. Light aromas of yellow fruits, some spice, a little yeastiness, a hint of wax, a touch of smoke and a whiff of stone dust. Rich and full-bodied on the palate with medium-to-moderate acidity and very fine and soft mousse. Flavors of ripe yellow fruit, some waxy character, a little bit of something stuffy and slightly unpleasant and a touch of play dough. Ripe, rich and a bit stuffy finish with vague flavors of smoke, stony minerality and some ripe red apple.
Meh. The wine comes across somewhat unpleasant, lacking focus, brightness and precision. Not particularly my style, I don't know if the vintage was just off, or if the fruit wasn't of the best quality, or if the winemaking with sparkling wines is a bit off here. Whatever the case, this wine definitely wasn't worth the 22€.
