My wife and I try to agree a score on our evening wine. Her comment about this was it is very acidic has no fruit and the smell of this wine is not nice. I drank my glass, I would agree that it was difficult to find the fruit but I thought the smell just bland and lacking fruit. I see others thought this wine was good and mine has been kept in ideal conditions. Maybe this bottle was off but we tossed it away.
Rustic ruby red with garnet rim. Deep bitter cherry fruit and underbrush aromas with some rubber in the background. Beautiful polished mouthfeel that is light as a feather yet coats the entire mouth. Fresh and and palate cleansing while retaining a richness that is very pleasant. More about the textures than flavors here, but the flavors mirror the nose...bitter cherry and earthy underbrush. Very good! Probably hitting or past its peak. Excellent balance. Tannins fully integrated.

This is really good and at the price terrific. Classically southern Rhone but for its age with excellent soft lush flavors - ripe black plum - with a lovely nose of stewed fruit, spice and herbs. For $16, this is a champ.

Similar to my last notes. Deep, dark, savage and wild.

This is wonderful... almost Bandol-like, with tar, pepper, iodine, licorice and black fruits. Lively and juicy... this begs for a good cassoulet.
