Savoury with strong characters of tobacco and vanilla infusing the black cherry fruit. Fresh, creamy and with bags of acidity this developed a well-crafted silky texture on the mid-palate. With plenty of staying power on the finish. I enjoyed this with a plate of pan-fried kidneys and the match was utterly sublime. CHP 91pts

Deep color. Swirling 6” above the rim and it’s sweet dark fruit and glycerin. Closer to the rim, the fruit is clearly ripe black cherries. Becomes slightly more austere on breathing as the tannins come out. Wow, this is a really nice Muga Reserva! Definitely good for a few years as it has plenty of gentle tannins, great body, and great fruit. Obviously, jamon and simple grilled meat is the natural accompaniment now (because of the tannins) but more so as it matures (as the tannins soften); at this stage, however, it’s still fresh enough that I’d say throw in some tapas with an acidic-salty note.

It did take two hours before it really opened... and then it became really enjoyably👏
Nice mostly clear medium darkness bright ruby red color👏
Medium body, medium acidity, well felt tanines but feels smooth, nice structure👏
Nicely aromatic (after two hours), barrels, red and black fruits, spices, terroir, ageing👏
Same mixture on the palate, in a mild & balanced manner (old world wine), oak, coffee, chocolate, plum, cherry, leather, cheese, hazelnut, stone, pepper, licorice, anise 👏
Nice wine & a good VFM.

Too young. This bottle was raw and powerful but nothing else. Past bottles seemed mellower. I have more and will wait a few more years.
