  • A very complex nose. Blueberry, blackberry, crème de cassis, iron oxide, tobacco smoke and leather. The fruit rules the palate, in very distinct layers. Notes of loam and limestone appear on the very long finish. Very polished tannins. Outstanding tension. I usually decant a mature Napa red for about an hour before drinking. Ninety minutes for this, and a little warmer than normal. Around 68-70 degrees. Nailed it.

  • Pronounced nose with notes of cassis, black fruits, blackberry, vanilla, toast, flora, violet. Medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin. Tannin is smooth and velvety. Long finish. Did not decant. Drinking well now with potential of improving with ageing.

  • Dark red color. Graphite, vanilla, bell pepper, currant bouquet. Very smooth entry, the wine is medium-bodied with notes of herbaceousness and modest tannins. Slightly warm finish. Rustic herbal aftertaste.
I think this wine is in its “adolescent” stage and needs more time. Disjointed right now.

  • Initially tasted as. PnP and it was quite approachable, however it opened up nicely after 2-3 hours in a decanter. Dark red and black fruits with incredible purity and an intense tobacco note throughout. An imaginary blend of new and old world that I find common with Dominus, this wine is on another level than most other vintages. Silky profile and texture, medium + tannins that are balanced well with the intense fruit but will balance even more after 5 years in bottle. Excellent wine.

  • Dense and concentrated, beautiful balance of red and black berry fruit. Truffle and sautéed mushrooms on the nose. Dark chocolate and baking spice on the palate. Lovely!
