Tasted PnP starting at about 6pm and tasted over 3 hours with some left for tomorrow. This bottle seemed to be a step up from the bottle I last tasted nearly 3 years ago. It is a translucent medium garnet-crimson color. The nose Is floral as well as dark red and black fruited along with some menthol and anise. Palate had good texture, bright acidity, low tannin resulting in a rich mouth feel initially but with more air this got perceptibly thinner and more acidic. Palate had pomegranate, black currant, violets and menthol on the finish. It didn’t really show the bitter edge encountered at the 3 hour point last time. All in all a very pleasant and easy to drink, food friendly wine. Best over the next few years and with little to no decanting in my view, which is rather unusual for me to say. Great with pizza, pasta, BBQ and the like.
p.s. next night the wine was ok but not great. No real bitterness on the finish but pretty one dimensional overall.

Have now enjoyed two bottles. ...Each upon opening, a few hours in, and on subsequent evenings. Nothing sour or off in my amateur experience w regard to finish profile. But as they say, no great wines, only great bottles. ‘Not sure who actually says that. I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend at my local price point of about 35USD.

I don't quite get Vinous/D'Agata's 93 point rating. While this is a perfectly reasonable and well made Nero D'Avola it lacks the depth and complexity that a 93 point score implies. This was decanted at 6 pm and drunk through 10 pm and finished the next evening. The wine is medium garnet in color with a nose of raspberry, violets and slight white pepper. There is very low tannin and medium+ acidity. On the palate I get some tart cranberry, raspberry, huckleberry and spice. Curiously the finish was quite smooth for the first hour or so but later there was a very bitter element on the finish that was rather unpleasant. This seemed to dissipate the next day but not entirely disappear. I'm not sure how this will age but I think it is something best drunk before its 10th birthday and with little to no extra time to breathe.
