Deep purple color. Ripe plummy aroma. Full entry. Ripe, black fruit and spice palate. Very ripe. Not a lot of detail. I'm normally a big fan, but there was no definition in this vintage. 88

This wine really failed tonight. Amidst the group this came in last. A lot of aromatics but it fails on the palette as rotted plum, and some boysenberry just don't seem to integrate well. Peppery if anything.
Lineup included. 1990 Dom Perignon, Kenward Tor 2014 Hyde vineyard Chardonnay, Jordan Chardonnay 2014, Plumpjack Cabernet 2012, Plumpjack Syrah 2015 and Denner The Ditch Digger 2015.

Wine Tasting Group (11/12/2017): PnP. Ripe, dense plum aromas with freshly cracked black pepper. Palate is similar with dense ripe blackfruits that borders but does not cross the line of being overdone for me. Black pepper adds interest with pretty good acids that lifts the wine from any flabbiness. Definitely mostly about the fruit but I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

Jammy blackberry and plum with spicy pepper undertones. Medium bodied with a lingering spicy finish.
