Pretty classic Napa Cab nose. This is ripe with no green elements. This wine has a texture.....velvety. No structure (tannins or acidity) to speak of. Drinks nicely though but don’t wait too long.

Drank over 3 days, decanting some 30 - 60 mins each time, contrasted to when I tasted this several years ago in its youthful stage this seems to have begun integrating more fully into something quite worthwhile. RP makes some great stuff and overall they did well in '15/'16, this was one of the first 15 CS's tried in my collection so far and it was true to the NV '15 vintage quality. Day 1 a little overbearing on the wood, leather, and tobacco notes but began to let the dark red-blue fruits come out. By 2nd day it was humming my tune - black forest cake, minty-licorice notes, and some baking spices all danced on a more mellowed soft but juicy full and lingering finish. Day 3 still good but starting to tire, not a surprise given it sat out on the counter. 90 - 92 pts, with another 2 - 5 years of life easily ahead of it. Solid QPR considering many $40 - $75 alternatives of similar character & quality.
