(CHAT LAMARTINE CAHORS CUVEE PARTICULIERE) #1; Lot of hype in NYC Restaurant scene; COLOR-really, really dark; NOSE-killing the other 2, SPECTACULAR, more New World, Raspberry/Vanilla cupcakes, I ADORE the nose, black licorice, dark black raspberry extract; TASTE-this is GOOD wine, great balance between both New World & Old World, nice extracted fruit, black pepper, great undertones of vanilla & raspberry, great structure on mid-palate, well made, structured, long finish, dry, austere, complex & will last 20 years, ABSOLUTE STEAL and a 1/2; GV-91

Good drinking window now. Lots of plum fruit and good balance. Used most of this bottle to braise lamb shanks, and drank the rest.

Much better than the first bottle. I used 2/3 of it for cooking lamb shanks and pasta, but drank the rest while waiting for the shanks to roast in the oven. Very smooth and delicious--a good companion to meat dishes.

Bouchon : pas entamé, de bonne qualité
Robe : noire (quelle surprise !), avec un disque violine comme certains jeunes beaujolais, de fines larmes s'écoule le long de la parois
Nez assez monolithique sur le cassis, puis un peu de vanille, puis cela évolue vers la fraise écrasée
En bouche: les tanins sont fondus, c'est fin, avec une bonne mâche, une légère amertume, une bonne persistance.
Beau vin à point, une valeur sûre en cahors
