I'm always amazed by Mollydooker's 'Boxer' as it's a high-striking specimen. Every vintage. Just centimeteres below the really expensive, famous cuvées.
This offers a youthful, deep red with a violet tinge. The nose is huge, sporting anise seeds, fennel, licorise, Bassett's AllSorts, rich iron minerality and Syrah berries on the level of sleeping with them. In the mouth: superb balance, richness, length, complexity and phantasmagoria unleashed. Wow! At this price point, nothing in this genre can beat it.
Wife complains about it having EtOH shining through, but as I like Whiskey, Gin, Grappa, Marc, Tresterbrand and others, I can’t say that I even noticed…
Still a rascal and needs more rest to start blooming as the amazing Syrah that it is.
If you love juicy fruit, just gob yourself! If you prefer mature or maturing wines, we suggest you hold on for your pleasures. 我慢。
2 more btls to go, next one ~2028.

Deep color, solid Shiraz, like the old days. Spicy and full bodied. Alcohol fully integrated but there’s a fair amount. Really nice with Shepherds Pie

Very big, but it has calmed down a bit over time. One more bottle left and will give that one another year.

One of my top wines. VERY bold, earthy. I describe it as a literal punch to the face (get it? boxer..)
