Classic claret even at cru classe level at first, then decanted for two hours and with steak: worked very well but the alcohol was a little out of balance and otherwise on the soft side as would be expected. Better with a very mature Red Leicester cheese but still the alcohol seems to overpower a little.

One hour decant and this shows good red fruit. Rather simple but pleasant. Not much lift on the nose but the fruit and acid are balanced with the tannins. Probably has five to ten years left of peak.

Classic Bordeaux cru bourgeois. Nicely aged, tannins resolved, in drinking window. Marks all the boxes on a cru bourgeois for a weekday steak or ragu pasta. Decanted for 1/2 hour before wine opened up.
