From a lovely winery perched on a hill overlooking the east side of Seneca lake (and boasting a tasting room that has an amazing view to boot)! Lamoreaux Landing's Rieslings are some of the best in the Finger Lakes, hands down. However they do stand out from other wineries in the Finger Lakes as they also have some lovely chardonnay as well.
Medium-pale gold in color, this is has less-rich hues than I usually see in chardonnay, perhaps a result of this growing in a cold climate. The nose has a good bit of oak on it along with some pear and lemon. Medium-full bodied, it's rather high in acidity but this is balanced out by just the right amount of oak that adds a bit of texture and is a nice touch. The flavor is quite buttery thanks to the oak, but it's not so buttery as to be overbearing. There is also quite a bit of pear and green apple, which later evolves to some vanilla and caramel in the finish. The retronasal smell is dominated by oak, green apple and also has a bit of caramel.
Overall this is a very satisfying wine! It's rather acidic so recommend enjoying this with food. It goes quite nicely with grilled chicken!

Delicious. Creamy with oak but nice balancing acidity. Mostly apple and pear notes with some vanilla and nutmeg.
