Amazing wine. Lots of sediment, so be careful with the pour. Kamen's write up on the flavor profile is spot on. Drinking well now, but I'm sure this one will continue to improve with age. Opened up after about an hour or so.

Two hour slow ox, then sealed overnight with Repour Wine Saver. Deep dark magenta color. Plum, French silk pie, and a bit of vinyl. Smooth, dry palate, with nice, center of the tongue acidity. Firm, lower intensity tannins on medium long finish.
This continues my streak of not so great experience with the ‘14 vintage. This may have been open too long.

Deer Valley Palooza in 3 stages with Mark1npt and Agelvis; 6/25/2023-7/1/2023 (8,100 ft): This bottle was a contribution from Mark and I was excited because I haven’t had Kamen before, but I think this bottle got a bit lost in the shuffle of all the other wines we were drinking. I didn’t take extensive notes, only:black plummy and multivitamin on the nose. Good acidity on day 1.

Similar bottle to last week. Part of our DVPalooza with the DQ. Lots of black plum in this bottle with graham cracker ad slight camphor at one point. Acidity is still quite good so more time to go for these but this was my last one!
Addendum: half bottle under a Repour stopper overnight at room temp. Sampled after letting it air for about 30 min and it may be back up to its customary 94 by then so I'm upping the score above by 1 point. Some commented that the plum was more of a stewed variety than sheer black and they are probably correct but it's very subtle. I am not a fan of most stewed fruit, and I would not raise the score by a point the 2nd night if this was even the least off-putting.

Late night addition to the drink list for tonight. Basically, the same notes as with prior bottles. Score is right there with them, as well. This one doesn't seem to be aging or falling off, at all.
