Surprisingly it is 10 years since opening the last of this vintage and conventional wisdom would state that was already far too late. However, screw cap, modern techniques, stainless steel and a good wine is still a good wine. This has matured extremely well. It is a very enjoyable wine, The grassiness, so typical of Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc, has subsided with just a hint remaining. The texture is now creamy and full and more aged Sancerre than Marlborough. Experimentation is worthwhile as this wine proves. Ageing is specific to a vintage as a others of a similar age have not fared so well but patience remains a virtue and worth the effort. Enjoy.

Drank from Bin East 11. In cellar since April 2007. $13.00. Caramel nose. Medium to dark yellow. Medium body, dry wood middle and soft finish with chaulk. Fruit gone but nice aged wine. 4/10.

Not showing any material fatigue, despite suggestions to the contrary. This wine displayed all of the hallmarks of a well-rounded NZ sauvignon blanc. The initial impression of lemon grass and asparagus gave way to vibrant acidity and citrus fruit flavours a well balanced finished.

Still drinkable with typical NZ herbaceous, bell pepper, lime, etc.

Agree fully with earlier notes. Standout value for NZ Sauvignon Blanc.
