This had a sweeter, slightly menthol-type nose of red currants, wild herbs, a dark mineral overlay with a bit of oak spice remaining still. There is a bit of coffee, smoke element that I tend to enjoy from some of the GP wines. Is it oak influence? Torrefaction? Seems to remind me of the some earlier Denis Mortet wines. Still very big and more primary in fruit than other ‘85 burgs tasted lately. 92-93.
