Opened bottle about 45 mins before dinner to air, and drank over 3 hours. Dark purple colored, heavy and inky. Very narrow legs. Aroma is concord grapes, light smoke, vines, and a touch of alcohol. Big and heavy on the palate. Bright red raspberries and currants initially. After 2 hours, the ripe fruit makes way for heavier plum and dark grape flavors. Medium-long, rich and smooth finish. Great balance for a relatively young wine, representing solid QPR.
Decant 1-2 hours and have with a steak or bold, savory dish and the wine will hold its own.
Would love to try more from Tulum Valley. Let me know of any recommendations.
