If I didn't know better, I would have sworn this had significant Cab in the blend, but no.
fairly dark, nearly opaque, but 9again) similar to medium bodied old school cab, not a super extracted monster. translucent and bricking toward the rim. Good legs.
Beautiful but reserved nose, both bright and dark berries, some spice, no hot etoh. Wood evident.
Body matches the nose. Silky tannins. medium body/medium viscosity. Long finish. Terrific with food (in my case roast lamb rack crusted with "stuff"). Sufficient acidity to cut through lamb fat, yet no overt sour acid. Tannins pretty tamed.
Initially a bit green and some off nose. Blew off in decanter and glass in about 5-10 minutes. Give it a little time, but no need for lots.
Shows no sign of fatigue - ought to remain several more years in a solid cellar.

Feels a little disjointed, like the fruit and the acidity and the tannins just won't get along. OK as a daily red to consume without much thought, it does play like sangio more so than I had initially expected. Maybe it will get better with time but I don't know.

NR. Not sure what is going on here, just not much to explore and disappointing - missing complexity and balance. Another JS93 miss, or perhaps an off bottle, one more to try. Something might be lurking in there so will reserve judgment for 2nd try.

Terrific wine.
Showing its age in a good way.

Worked well with a deep dish pizza, though a little figgy? Would not expect major improvement.

This bottle had more funk on it. Still had notes of leather and earth, some dark fruit on the palate
