  • Very intense yellow in the glass, a bit worrying before smelling. Nose is intense, dried hay, almond and some oxidation. Quite heavy on the palate, it lacks agility but don’t totally feel the 14,5 alcohol.

  • { #ViniVeri2017 } From a 1Ha parcel with clay-ey soils comes Valter Mattoni's sub-1,000 bottle production of 100% Trebbiano aged and raised entirely in stainless steel after a 10 day fermentation. The exposition here is southern, and it's reflected in the depth of flavors. It's not heavy, but it's not light, either. Similarly, it's not fruity, and it's not necessarily mineral or saline, it's a composite, as it should be, I think, of all of the above. A serious effort for a tiny production wine. Rather a unique color and overall disposition. Worth a try, for sure. The 14,5% abv. is fully resolved. recommended

*drink now or in next several years; I reckon a 60 minute rest in decanter would help it show even better.
