  • Complex bouquet of toasted spices oak, ripe blackberries, tobacco and dark chocolate. Palate is fresh and energetic. Full-bodied and lengthy mid-palate with graphite notes. Still somewhat tannic in a closed finish. Need extensive breathing for the elements to open up. Wait for 3 more years. 91-93 pts

  • Dark, saturated purple. Quite aromatic of black current, creme de cassis, milk chocolate, rosemary, eucalyptus and smoky oak. The palate is taut, with black cherry and currants, espresso bean, chocolate, earth, salty minerals with fine-grained tannins. This is just excellent and starting to unfurl and show it's stuff. Delicious now thanks to its plush character, this could use a few more years to gain complexity. Drink 2025-2030+ 95

  • Still primary. Well constructed, very linear with good length. Needs to develop some complexity. No rush at all. Some years away from prime drinking window, depending on what you want from it.

  • Easily one of the most perfect Bolgheri and Tuscany vintages since 1998, so when brother RL surprised us with first dining in the same restaurant then bringing this and 2 epic wines along.. I couldn't say no to a pour or two!

At only eight years in such an epic vintage this is still woefully young, with such intensity and power and I can see this developing into a 4.5 star (Vivino) or even 94 pointer CellarTracker wine in 5-10 years.

65% Cab, 20% Merlot, 15% Sangiovese and already in such beautiful balance. Luscious dark fruits, strong tannin backbone.

  • A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 15% Sangiovese grapes, grown on the hills of Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast.

Improves with 15-30 min of air.

This wine has a deep ruby red color and a complex bouquet of ripe blackberries, blackcurrants, and cherries, accompanied by spicy notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and tobacco.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and silky, with rich flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and espresso, complemented by a pleasant acidity and a firm tannic structure.
The finish is long and persistent, with lingering hints of fruit and spice.

Overall, the 2015 Grattamacco Bolgheri Superiore is a well-structured and balanced wine, showcasing the best qualities of the Bolgheri terroir and the skilled winemaking of the Grattamacco team. It can be enjoyed now or aged for several years to come, and pairs well with red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses.
