Previously Coravin'd, within the last 6 weeks I think which may have impacted how open this seems.
After 45 minutes in the decanter I'm getting mixed berry jam and pipe tobacco on the nose. Wood profile is balanced and nuanced, however I'd like more weight as found in one of Kenefick's own cab offerings.
After three hours the nose takes on Bordeaux characteristics that set a pleasant stage however it's gotten lighter, sweeter, and hotter / more alcoholic as well. Still a pleasing and enjoyable wine that went well with tonight's steak and spuds, however difficult to gauge it's longevity given the uncertain impact from the Coravin.
WOW! Poured through an aerator, probably better to decant for a couple hours. Tasted originally 4.5 years ago at a tasting at N&N, where we tasted 8 Cabs, all the same year, same wine maker, but different appellations. A wonderful experience.

Coravan’d a small glass. Right out of the bottle this is very tight and dry; fruit buried in the background. Only a small taste but will give this some time to open up when pulling the cork.

Followed over two evenings. First night was really tight even after decanting half the bottle for 2 hours. 3 days later with a nitrogen blanket the balance of the bottle is softer but lacks much fruit or layering; there is a hint of dark and bing cherry with cola peeking out from softer tannins. Will wait a year before retrying; nice wine with adequate time, but struggling to justify the price.
