A dazzling wine, incredible that it is drinking with such precision and grace after 28 years, especially given that it’s from Maranges, one of the less heralded villages from Cote de Beaune. I will say that this bottle was split among a lot of people and so we didn’t get the chance to see how it evolved with air, as seems to be so common with many a well-made Burgundy. I do recommend a decant (for the sediment at least), smelling and drinking very slowly, and somewhere soft to land your arse in astonishment after taking your first sip.
